Traffic Stop leads to an arrest and seizure of suspected marijuana and the recovery of a stolen firearm

On Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at approximately 6AM, a Nolan County deputy stopped a white Chrysler sedan for a minor traffic infraction in the 1100 block of Campbell. Contact was made with the driver, Treyvonn Travis Taylor, of Sweetwater who was accompanied by another male passenger. Two Sweetwater Police Officers that were nearby responded and assisted the deputy. During a roadside investigation, the deputy detected indicators of criminal activity that subsequently lead to the discovery of suspected Marijuana and the recovery of a stolen firearm. Mr. Taylor was placed under arrest and transported to the Nolan County jail where he was charged with the felony offense of Theft of Firearm. This case will be filed with the 32nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
