Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA)
The Nolan County Sheriff's Office maintains a strict ZERO TOLERANCE policy against all forms of sexual abuse and harassment within the Nolan County Jail facility. The office responds promptly to any allegations and conducts thorough investigations into reported incidents. Based on the findings and in compliance with PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003) standards, appropriate disciplinary measures are taken. Additionally, individuals found to have committed prohibited acts are referred for prosecution to ensure accountability and uphold the safety and dignity of all inmates within the facility.
Reporting Sexual Abuse & Sexual Harassment (PREA 115.54)
Inmates may report incidents using any of the following methods:

Telling any detention officer, NCSO staff member, volunteer or contractor.

Writing to any detention officer, NCSO staff member using the Inmate Request Form or Inmate Grievance process.

Using the KIOSK in the jail pods.

Calling the toll-free PREA hotline provided on all inmate phones in the jail.
