Warrant Service
The Nolan County Sheriff's Office is dedicated to actively pursuing and apprehending individuals who have outstanding criminal warrants received from the courts. In addition to patrol duties, Deputies are charged with the responsibility of transporting and extraditing apprehended fugitives from across the State of Texas or from anywhere within the United States. Both the patrol and transport divisions combined average over 150,000 miles per year in pursuit of fugitives that are incarcerated in other state or county jail facilities to be returned to Nolan County and face pending criminal charges.
Most commonly when an individual is stopped for a violation, a warrant check will be conducted through Texas Crime Information Center (TCIC) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) databases that are accessible to any peace officer. If the individual has an outstanding warrant, he or she will be arrested, and the Nolan County Sheriff's Office will be notified that the individual is being held on the charges.
The Nolan County Sheriff's Office works in cooperation with Nolan County Crime Stoppers and other law enforcement agencies to locate fugitives and effect arrests.
