Mental Health
The Nolan County Sheriff’s Office Mental Health Division provides mental health services to individuals at the time of their arrest. An in-house mental health therapist with the assistance of a mental health deputy offers essential support, including coping skills training, crisis intervention, and skills development tailored to the specific needs of individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Participation in these services is available to individuals during their incarceration and may continue after their release.
The Mental Health Division collaborates with local mental health agencies in Nolan County to facilitate a smooth transition from incarceration to community reintegration. This partnership ensures continuity of care for individuals diagnosed with mental health conditions and those in crisis. Furthermore, collaboration with the court system allows for post-booking diversions that enable individuals to access rehabilitation facilities, psychiatric hospitals, and nursing homes as needed.
