The Nolan County Sheriff’s Office Welcomes New Detention Officer

On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, Jerry Lopez was officially sworn in as the newest member of the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office Detention Division. Surrounded by his colleagues, Jerry took the oath of office and was presented with his badge, marking the beginning of his service with our agency.

Jerry brings previous corrections experience and valuable knowledge to the position, strengthening our team and supporting the daily operations of the detention facility.

This occasion is especially meaningful as Jerry’s son, Jacob, also serves as a Detention Officer with the Nolan County Sheriff's Office. We are proud to have a father and son serving together and contributing to the safety and security of our community.
