MEDINA, STEVEN

On Saturday, August 29, 2015, Nolan County deputies arrested a Sweetwater man and seized a large quantity of what deputies determined to be methamphetamine, after a warrant service turned into a motor vehicle pursuit. At approximately 1pm, Nolan County deputies located and attempted to arrest Steven Medina, of Sweetwater who had an outstanding felony warrant. Medina was found seated in a red Dodge truck parked on James Street, and before he could be contacted, he sped off in the vehicle. Deputies pursued Medina through several Sweetwater neighborhoods before turning on Vards Lane where he was confronted head on by another deputy, forcing him to skid to a stop. Medina jumped from the vehicle and fled the area on foot into a residence where he attempted to elude pursuing deputies. Medina was quickly located and taken into custody, but began complaining of wounds to his right leg. Sweetwater Ambulance Service was contacted and later arrived on scene where Medina was treated, medically cleared and released. A search of the area inside the residence where Medina was located as well as the vehicle he was driving was conducted which lead to the discovery of a large quantity of methamphetamine and paraphernalia used in its consumption. Medina was transported to the Nolan County jail where he was charged with the felony offenses of evading arrest/detention with vehicle and manufacture/delivery of methamphetamine. The case will be filed with the 32nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
