As the sun rises over Sweetwater, it signals the start of an exciting day for athletic enthusiasts participating in the annual Beat the Street for Little Feet event, navigating their way through Nolan County.
In an effort to ensure the safety of all participants, Sheriff Villanueva has assigned dedicated deputies to escort the participants throughout their routes this morning.
Cyclists competing in the 45 and 33-mile bike races will kick off their journey from the 400 block of Elm Street, navigating through Broadway and Lamar, and ultimately heading out onto the north frontage road toward the county.
Simultaneously, runners competing in the half marathon, 10k run, and 5k run, will also depart from the same starting point, navigating through various areas in and around the City of Sweetwater.
We kindly urge all motorists to remain attentive and drive with caution while these events are underway, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for both participants and the community.
