James Villanueva, Sheriff of Nolan County, along with Jail Administrator Marsha Harris and Jail Sergeant Israel Vera, proudly announce the graduation of three detention officers from Basic Corrections Officer Training at West Central Texas Law Enforcement Academy in Abilene.

Jacob Lopez, Daniel Mendoza, and Hanna Vera successfully completed the rigorous six-week academy, where they received comprehensive instruction in legal procedures, jail operations, inmate supervision, and critical safety standards required for professional corrections work.
Following graduation, each jailer was required to pass the State (TCOLE) Certification Examination. Upon successful completion, they officially attained Certified Jail/Detention Officer status. The Nolan County Sheriff’s Office is proud of the hard work, dedication, and commitment demonstrated by all three officers as they continue their careers in corrections.
Sergeant Vera shared a special moment of pride, as Hanna Vera follows in her father’s footsteps by choosing a career in public service and detention operations.
Congratulations to Jacob Lopez, Daniel Mendoza, and Hanna Vera on this outstanding achievement and their continued service to the citizens of Nolan County.
