On Monday, May 5, 2025, Sheriff James Villanueva administered the oath of office to Eddy Hernandez, an active Reserve Deputy Sheriff at the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office. Eddy took the oath in the presence of his family and colleagues to commemorate this special occasion.

Eddy is currently employed full-time as a Fire Fighter/Paramedic with the Sweetwater Fire Department. Prior to this, he had served with the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office, where he held the position of Patrol Deputy and later, Mental Health Deputy. Over the last two years, Eddy transitioned to reserve deputy status, allowing him to maintain his commitment to serving the community with the fire department. We are pleased that Eddy Hernandez continues to be a part of our team, where he effectively contributes to public safety and emergency response efforts.
Congratulations Deputy Hernandez and Jailer Mendoza.
