The Nolan County Sheriff's Office is proud to announce a new partnership with the Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital to address inmate healthcare needs.
On Monday, September 8, 2025, the Nolan County Commissioners Court approved Sheriff James E. Villanueva’s request to enter into a Health Care Service Agreement between the Nolan County Jail and Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
“One of the most significant responsibilities here at the Nolan County Sheriff's Office is running the Jail,” said Sheriff Villanueva. “Our jail staff is responsible for the care and control of up to 96 inmates at any given time. As you can imagine, inmate healthcare is a huge part of that.”
For many years, inmate healthcare services had been overseen by a third-party company located out of state. However, starting October 1, 2025, Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital and its excellent healthcare team will assume this responsibility.
“Inmate healthcare is a considerable expense for the taxpayers here in Nolan County,” said Sheriff Villanueva. “With this change, we are now able to reinvest those tax dollars back into our community supporting our local partners and delivering long-term benefits where they matter most.”
